How to multiply by 10 or 100

 

To multiply by 10 the digits move one place to the left and you insert a place holding 0 at the end.

Example   45 x 10 = 450

              To multiply by 100 the digits move two places to the left and you insert two place holding 0's at the end.

Example   45 x 100 = 4500
