How to multiply by 10 or 100

 

To multiply by 10 you move the digits one place to the left, to multiply by 100 you move the digits two places to the left, remembering to put in any place holding 0's.
  

Example 1-      312 x 10 = 3120

Example 2-      845 x 100 =  84500
