How to add numbers using partitioning

To add numbers using the partition method you simply add the units together then the tens and then the hundreds, finally add these three numbers together to find the answer .

123 + 233

hundreds    100 + 200 = 300

tens    20 + 30 = 50

units    3 + 3 = 6

answer 300 + 50 + 6 = 356

Practice answering some more questions using your calculator.
